F Scott Fitzgerald had recorded this list in 1936 for his friend and nurse, Dorothy Richardson, at the Grove Park Inn found in Asheville, North Carolina. The full selection he listed appeared to be available in the Modern Library and include notable reads such as The Maltese Falcon, by Dashielle Hammett, The Plays of Oscar Wilde, and War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy.
